Howdy, I'm Lindsay Kappius!
I am a professional nonprofit and event photographer born and raised in Charlotte, NC. After graduating from Randolph Community College with a degree in photojournalism, I was a photography intern with SHARE Charlotte, where I connected with 50+ nonprofit organizations and documented different communities and causes. My time at SHARE Charlotte opened my eyes to how passionate individuals can make a difference in the community and the importance of great imagery.
Ever since I was in the recycling club in elementary school, I have had a passion for the planet. I enjoy learning about local organizations making sustainable efforts and how I can vote with my dollar and minimize my impact on the planet. (PS: My cameras are close to 10 years old and purchased second-hand!)
As a full-time freelancer, I have the flexibility to work on last-minute events or fundraisers that have been planned all year long.
In my spare time, I enjoy visiting my local farmers market, hiking and camping in the Western Carolina mountains, hanging out with my 2 cats, and participating in my hyperlocal buy nothing Facebook group.
Three of my favorite local nonprofit organizations to rave about are:
Envision Charlotte and their work with the Innovation Barn
ShareCharlotte and their mission to connect nonprofits to resources
Community Culinary School of Charlotte and its culinary education program for previously incarcerated individuals (They have the BEST food at their cafe!)
